Ian M. Feller, editor of CrossGen Comics' Code 6 imprint, told The Continuum that a pair of Hollywood writers will be contributing titles.

Bob Gale is writing Illustrated Warriors, a six-issue mini-series. Gale is also writing the Meridian animated film.

Chuck Russell, who is turning in a script for a Way of the Rat movie on Monday, is writing Metal Storm, also a six-issue mini-series.

Feller told The Continuum that neither series has an announced artist or release date.

"They're tentatively scheduled for a late 2003 release date," he said.

HOLLYWOOD GOES CROSSGEN!

Two Tinseltown Titans Launch Titles Through Code 6!
TAMPA, FL., March 6, 2003

Who said that the road between comic books and Hollywood was a one-way street? Not only are entertainment giants developing a growing line of feature films and television programs based on nearly every CrossGen title, but they are also now bringing their original ideas to CrossGen Entertainment in order to create all-new comic books.

Director Chuck Russell (The Mask, Eraser, and The Scorpion King) and Bob Gale, Academy Award nominated screenwriter of the Back to the Future movies, will each write six-issue mini-series for CGE's Code 6 imprint. Chuck Dixon, writer of BRATH, CRUX, SIGIL, and WAY OF THE RAT, will edit both series.

Gale, the newly announced screenwriter of the upcoming Meridian CGI animated feature, will pen the action thriller ILLUSTRATED WARRIORS. While readers will remember his character-driven work from his courtroom drama in Daredevil, this is the first time Gale will transform his own creations into a comic book series.

"CrossGen has been publishing the most exciting and consistently high quality books of any mainstream comics company, and I'm thrilled that ILLUSTRATED WARRIORS will be part of their line-up," stated Gale. "Plus, I get to work with Chuck Dixon, who I got to know when I did the Batman: No Man's Land books. I couldn't be happier to be in the creative soup with him again."

Expanding his relationship with CGE, Chuck Russell, director and writer of the upcoming Castle Rock/DreamWorks production of Way of the Rat, will launch the sci-fi epic METAL STORM.

"Chuck Russell and Bob Gale doing comics? And I get to edit them and talk to them on the phone and pretend to everyone else we're best pals? How cool is this?" asked Dixon. "I get to work with two real showmen who also know their way around a comic book story. And while they brought us a pair of properties as different as night and day, each is a blow-the-doors-off action treat. I've loved both of their work in movies for years and it's a bang to work alongside them to bring their brand of entertainment to CrossGen."

"It's very exciting that two names as big as Bob Gale and Chuck Russell have joined our young line," said Ian M. Feller, Managing Editor of Code 6. "The type of Hollywood cachet that they bring to the comics industry is unprecedented. And to think that they both approached us with their projects
is mind-blowing."

Both METAL STORM and ILLUSTRATED WARRIORS are scheduled to debut in 2003. Retailers and readers should anticipate further announcements as Hollywood continues to knock on CrossGen's door.
