Sehr zu empfehlen ist dabei die What if Nr.3. Gil Kane-Zeichnungen, ein Rächer-Team wie es zuvor keines gab und ein heftig-dramatischer Schluß - das nenne ich einen Klassiker! ;)

Das waren die "Eisenrächer", richtig? Stimmt, absolut grossartiges Heft.

Wirklich klasse fand ich ausserdem noch die Nr. 1 (die mit einer überraschenden Entscheidung von Sue Richards aufwartet) und die 32, in der die Rächer als Sklaven Korvacs so richtig aufdrehen.

Lustig besonders die 30 (Was wäre wenn Spider-Mans Klon überlebt hätte?). Eine Schande, dass dieser Unsinn 15 Jahre später tatsächlich aufgegriffen wurde und Spidey für lange Jahre ziemlich ruinierte (Sorry, Klonfans :)).

Ich wäre ja stark für eine Neuauflage der Serie (die auch im zweiten Versuch einige starke Hefte hatte, bevor sie zu einem faden X-Men Only wurde), aber hätte wohl heutzutage keine Chance, sich am Markt zu behaupten. :(

Naja, eigentlich gibt es die Serie schon noch, wenn auch nicht als "What if".
Erde X, Universum X, Spider-Girl, Exiles usw. sind doch alles solche Serien, die von dem "What if"- Effekt leben (zum Teil auch von den Alex Ross Covern ;)).

Nur lutscht sich das nach einiger Zeit eben wieder aus und die Serien verschwinden beispielsweise die restlichen MC2 Linie, 2099-Linie und Mutant X.
