Hallo,

bin gerade dabei die alte Williams Rächer Serie nochmal zu lesen und nun an # 87 "hängengeblieben"... Kann mir jemand sagen, wo plötzlich der "Falke" herkam, bzw. ob diese Story an irgend ein Annual (o.ä.) anschließt?! Da wird ja gar nix erwähnt und in der # 88 ist er schon wieder nicht mehr dabei...

Das dürfte die deutsche 87 sein, da Williams ja bekanntlich eine Nummer ausgelassen hat:

Part one of the story of Psyklops, originally published in manuscript form as "The Hulk In The Grip of Psyklop" in Marvelmania Magazine #4. The story is concluded in Incredible Hulk #140.

The plot is described in "The Mighty Marvel Checklist" in the following way:
"A monster from beyond time and space -- the final caging of the Hulk -- and the eeriest war-of-the-worlds this side of H.P. Lovecraft! Like weird!"

Continuing the story of Psyklops from Avengers #88 this issue of Hulk tells the story of the Hulk's adventures in a microscopic world and his love for it's queen Jarella. It is described in the "Mighty Marvel Checklist" in the following fashion: "This one winds up the tale that begins in AVENGERS #88! But it's a brand new ball game - as our green skinned golem takes on a world he never made - at the heart of the atom!"

Rascally Roy Thomas, who adapted Ellison's plot for this and the Avengers issue, a plot originally published in Marvelmania Magazine #4, decided to have a little fun in scripting the story and writing it's cover copy. He describes it in the letter column answering a letter that praised the original Marvelmania story:

"And Harlan Ellison - who did the basic plot of this issue and the current AVENGERS as well, as one gigantic story - is welcome to do another story for us anytime he wishes. We truly dig a lot on his s-f masterpieces. In fact, since this issue will be on sale on April 1 - April Fool's Day - the Rascally One decided to toss in the names of over twenty Harlan Ellison stories (namely, the entire contents page of Paingod and Other Delusions and The Beast That Shouted Love At The Heart Of The World) as bits of dialogue and caption copy in the very mag you're now holding in your happy little hands! Happy hunting, Harlanophiles!"

I haven't found the nerve to search through yet. Any takers?

This issue was reprinted in the 1994 Marvel Vintage Comic Pack and Stan Lee Presents The Marvel Comics Illustrated Version of The Incredible Hulk (1982)

Wow, das nenne ich mal 'ne ausführliche Info ;-)
Es beantwortet aber leider meine Frage noch immer nicht richtig... Jetzt weiß ich zwar, dass die Story in Hulk # 140 fortgesetzt wurde, aber was sich inhaltlich VOR der AVENGERS US Ausgabe # 88 (der Williams # 87) abgespielt hat bleibt mir immer noch ein Rätsel -- daher auch meine Eingangsfrage nach dem "Falken"... in Avengers # 87 (der deutschen # 86) wird er noch nicht einmal erwähnt und plötzlich ist er Teil des Teams...

Also teilweise ist die Geschichte eine Fortsetzung aus Incredible Hulk 139.
Teilweise, weil in Incredible Hulk 139 die Rächer nicht vorkamen, sondern man dort nur erfährt, wie der Hulk in die Situation gekommen ist, in die er sich in Avengers 88 befindet.
Da du aber mehr an dem Falken interessiert bist, wird dir das wohl wenig helfen.
Eine Fortsetzung aus Captain America and the Falcon ist es nicht.
Dort lief in dem Monat und im Vormonat ein Crossover mit Spider-Man, dass nichts mit den Ereignissen aus Avengers 88 zu tun hat.
Ein Annual wars auch nicht. In dem 1971er Annual der Avengers gab es nur Reprints (Avengers 5+6) und von der Captain America/Falcon Serie gab es 1971 kein Annual.

Ich denke, dass es ganz einfach ein stinknormaler Gastauftritt von Captain America und dem Falken war. Es wird ja in einer Rückblende gezeigt, wie Cap und Sam im Bayou-Land einen jungen Mann befreiten, der in Trance immer nur irgendwelche Längen- und Breitengrade vor sich hinmurmelte. Danach wurde gezeigt, dass die beiden die Rächer um Hilfe bei der Sache baten.
Nach dem Gastauftritt werden Cap und Falke einfach wieder in ihre eigene Serie zurückgekehrt sein, denn die beiden waren zu der Zeit ja keine regulären Mitglieder der Rächer.

ok, Danke - das hilft mir weiter... jetzt weiß ich zumindest, dass ich nicht schon wieder nach irgendwelchen US Ausgaben suchen muß, die Williams seinerzeit nicht mitveröffentlichte ;-)
