The GazettE Mie-ken Bunka Kaikan Big HallYes, I finally saw the GazettE live! *____________*
I left home at about 14.15 though it was way too early, but I just couldn't stay home anymore XD On the way to Nagoya train station I stopped in Sakae and went to Ticket Pia counter, I bought a ticket for D'espairsRay live at Shibuya O-East on September 9, even though I already have a ticket for their live in Nagoya in the end of October. It was too tempting after all, I couldn't resist >_<" It means that a weekend after the next I'm spending in Tokyo: September 7 Friday - Gazette at Budoukan, September 9 Sunday - D'espairsRay at Shibuya O-East. Гулять так гулять! XD Though I haven't got my Budoukan ticket yet >_>
From Sakae I went to Nagoya train station and spent there quite some time trying to figure out which line and which train I should take to get to Tsu city. That obstacle cleared, I got on the train and already there I spotted a few girls obviously going to Mie for the very same purpose. But it was nothing compared to Tsu city train station, which was crowded with visual kei fans XD Since I had about hour and a half before the show (Mie might be another prefecture, but it's really close, it takes only about 45 min by train to get there) I went to a cafe which was crowded with fans as well. The whole cafe full of girls being very loud and talking about Gazette! XD Two girls sitting next to me were writing letters to the band members. One of them wrote a letter for each member and another one wrote a letter to Reita and folded it into a heart. What actually amused me is that she started a letter with "Dearest ♥ れいた" XD
I decided to make things simple and just took a taxi to the concert hall. Honestly, it's the first time I saw so many vk fans and especially cosplayers at once, I only went to small lives before after all. There were so many cosplayers it was a little bit disturbing and some of them were way too good >_>"
After I got in I went to a merchandise selling counter and bought a tour pamphlet and a T-shirt. OK, I know I said before that there is no way I'm buying a T-shirt, but I did it in the end >_< Too bad those Black Moral bags were sold out, golden might be a bit too much, but the black ones are really cool. A lot of fans were carrying them too.
After getting the goods I went to my seat which was on the 3d floor, but the first row and almost in the center, I was right across Uruha ^___^ I noticed that the first floor was pretty much girls only, I guess all of them fan club members, but on the second and especially the third floor there was a lot of guys, it was kinda unexpected. And many of them were dressed up and had make-up on etc. *____*
I could see the whole stage very well, but still I was a bit far away. It's seemed a bit surreal to see in reality what I've seen so many times on the DVDs before ^__^ I think sound wasn't perfect, but OK ^___^ The set list was what I expected except a couple of songs that really surprised me. Hopefully I haven't messed up the order of the songs.
Art drawn by vomit Intro, Gazette went on stage and took their places.
Agony During this song the audience wasn't much into the live yet.
However it changed with the next song Maggots. It looked dangerous how people in the first rows of the second and third floors were head-banging and leaning so much over the railing. I couldn't do it! >_<"
Cockroach I love this song ^__^ Performance-wise it was pretty much the same as on two last DVDs I think.
Burial Applicant They played it slower than the recorded version, and despite what Kouri said Ruki didn't seem to have any problems singing it, but maybe it's just deaf-me XD
Sugar Pain this was totally unexpected! It started with Aoi doing a solo on his guitar and I was confused what it was and couldn't recognize it until Ruki sang "black cherry" XD It ended with the same solo by Aoi as well. I think, because it was Mie the band let him have more spotlight, but not always in a good way >XD well that's later.
After a heavy part they went into more light, dancing kind of songs:
Swallowtail on the Death Valley
Ganjisu ni Akai Bara There was a small fire right in front of Ruki on his rise-up and in the beginning it looked like he threw something in it. However, this song sounded bad, kinda messed up >_>" They didn't perform it well.
Gentle Lie it surprises me that this is the song nobody moves to, neither the band nor the audience, except Uruha. He was doing "step to the right, step to the left", it looked funny especially because others were not moving at all.
This is definitely my favorite part of the live *____*
Calm Envy I love this song. It's one of my favorites and I could talk for so long about it XD but I won't
~ The disco ball was illuminating the hall, it started with a blue light that went to white by the end of the song. They finished it abruptly and Ruki sang the last few lines a cappella as if connecting it with the next song.
Taion All the lights went out and there was only a flickering green light in the middle of Ruki's rise-up and the sound like the one you hear when the cinema's film is being played. ... ugh how to explain that in English damn it?! Like the one that you can hear in the beginning of the Black Film!
~ Then Ruki started hitting the metal rise-up with his hand and singing a cappella. The disco ball was still up and now it illuminated the hall red. Taion is always so haunting...
But this time
Chizuru was even more so! They removed five curtains that hung in the back of the stage and there were small pillars now. The disco ball was now illuminating the hall in white light except two red spots on it that made it look so much like eyes of some beast. The lighting was also alternating between white light of a disco ball and red lights in the back of the stage. I thought the stage looked very much like a graveyard.
After the slow part they were back to heavy songs. I'm not sure about the song order here.
Filth in the beauty They played it so aggressively! And I had no problems head-banging to this song XD even if I usually don't move much to the music >_>" I think this was also the first song Uruha, Aoi and Reita moved to the front of the stage, until then I haven't realized they stayed at their places all the time.
Hyena I love Ruki's laugh in the beginning ^__^ However, in the middle of the song he went off key and sang several lines out of tune >_<
Circle of swindler
Mob 136 bars
Discharge Awesome! Even me head-banging. Or at least as much as I'll probably ever do it. The fact that I could easily topple over the railing still scared me XD In the end of the song Reita was the first to leave though the others were still playing their final chords. The rest of the band left except Ruki who lied on his rise-up and
People Error started. The audience was screaming and clapping throughout the whole song. They didn't shout "Encore!" just screamed their heads off in general. When the song ended, Ruki rolled off the rise-up stayed on his knees for several seconds, then got up and left the stage.
Immediately after that the "Encore!" shouts started. I didn't scream, but my hands hurt from clapping all the time XD About ten minutes later, the entrances to the hall on the right and left of the stage were illuminated and Reita and Kai appeared there, both wearing "Scream yourself" bandannas over there faces ^__^ Kai took his bandanna off the moment he got behind his drums. Reita walked to get his bass from the technician but passing the microphone he suddenly turned to it and shouted "YEAH!", of course everybody started screaming XDDDD
Encore:
Ride with the rockersThe same song but re-arranged. It was awesome how everybody started shouting not just random "Hey! Hey!" but "Reita! Reita!" *____* At one point Reita turned to the right and started motioning with his hand like "Here! Here!" to someone backstage I couldn't see. I realized he was motioning to Uruha standing there when he shouted "Three, two, one, go!" which usually Reita does during "Ride with the rockers". I know it was Uruha only because he was the one to walk out from that side, Ruki and Aoi went on stage from the left. And Ruki was wearing "Scream yourself" bandanna too.
Akai one piece Aoi played the solo Uruha usually does.
Psychodelic heroine Aoi was doing his hip-wiggle thing when he accidentally bumped into Reita, who just turned around and groped Aoi's ass. HAHAHAHA! Nice move, Reita! >XDDDDDD
They did a long MC here. Ruki talked three times during the main part, but that was just a few words that he usually says. Ruki started talking and DAMN MY JAPANESE! I wish I could understand better, he either said something that made audience start screaming "Aoi! Aoi!" or they started doing that anyway because they wanted to hear him talk. Anyway Aoi did it and even if he talked for awhile I think the most part of what he said was "I don't know what to say" and the audience screamed "Talk more!" XDDDDD I think Ruki and Reita talked between themselves here. In the end Aoi turned to Reita and motioned to him as if saying "Come on! Help me!" and Reita just shrugged as if saying "What do you want from me?" XDDDDDD
Go to hell Different from before, it took me some time to realize it was that song. And it was very short.
Backdrop junky ~nancy~ If Sugar Pain was a surprise this song was even more so o_O" I'd never think they still performed it. But it was awesome!
Kantou Dougeza Kumiai Three loop songs in a row, but it was not boring at all. Partly probably because Go to hell was short, partly because I love Backdrop junky and never expected to hear it live, and of course Kantou is always awesome.
During encore the guys were running from one end of the stage to another. At some point I had troubles choosing where to look, Reita on the isle on one side Ruki on the other and Uruha and Aoi back to back right in the middle of the stage >_< It was funny how when Uruha was standing on the isle next to the stage (like its extension?) girls were so groping his bare thighs XDDDDD
During Kantou Aoi did that T-shirt-lifting-belly-showing-thingy and Ruki who was walking past him grabbed his T-shirt and pulled it all the way up to Aoi's chin XDDDDDD So everybody could see not only his belly, but everything there is to see XDDDDD Then Ruki hugged Aoi, guitar squished between them XDDD All of that caused Aoi to basically walk off the stage! I still could see him from where I was, but I'm pretty sure many people couldn't. He just stayed there with his back turned to the audience for several seconds and then got back on the stage and continued playing. I think he was really embarrassed XDDDDDDDD
Ruki was pouring the water all over his crotch during Kantou and then throwing bottles to the audience, but that's the only song he did it during. Reita also threw a bottle once. And it's good that he did it only once XD He threw it so far that one of the staff guys had to jump and catch it before it hit a computer screen of the sound control system in the back of the hall XDDDDDDDD
Ruki and Uruha had a little moment when they were standing with their backs to the audience and Ruki gave Uruha his bottle to drink water from, but that's nothing like SGD XD
LINDA ~ candydive pinky heaven It's really hard to clap to this song, it's so fast >_<"
Conclusion: Look at my mood theme! I'm freaking HAPPY!!! *______________________*
